Greenwoods Communications - a leading independent
network solutions provider to the communications industry - today
announced its appointment as sole UK distributor to the telecom market
of ABB's Low Voltage products. This strategic partnership between
Greenwoods and ABB strengthens the range of products Greenwoods supplies
to encompass the electrical components that are a fundamental part
of Greenwoods core telecommunications offering. This means Greenwoods
customers and engineers now have a one-stop-shop for their network
solutions. ABB will benefit from Greenwoods' presence in the telecoms
market as its products, while ideally suited, have yet to achieve
significant penetration in the telecoms sector. "This partnership
offers both companies involved tangible benefits, but it will also
add a great deal of value for our customers," commented Peter Skinner,
Commercial Director, Greenwoods Communications. "ABB's products will
provide our customers with increased network reliability, cost savings
and the obvious benefits of sourcing the full range of products to
build a network from a single source - Greenwoods."
Greenwoods e-commerce portal, eGreenwoods plays a vital role in supply
chain management for a range of customers, as well as its large team
of engineers spread across the country. By acting as a single source
for thousands of the components necessary for building a network infrastructure,
eGreenwoods streamlines the order process, saving costs and time.
Greenwoods has been proactively seeking new products to add value
to its overall offering. The addition of ABB's Low Voltage products
extends Greenwoods' capability to provide a full range of solutions
for the network installation and servicing challenges facing today's
telecommunications companies. "Greenwoods represent an ideal
route into the telecomms market for ABB. Having spent two years constructing
a deal we are pleased that our customers in the telecoms market will
have a single point of purchase for our Low Voltage product range,"
commented Dave Evans, Industrial Sales Manager, ABB. "It is encouraging
to see a partnership whereby our customers in the telecoms sector
will benefit in terms of cost and service." Greenwoods and ABB will
be working together closely, to develop the partnership to ensure
that their customers draw the maximum benefit. Discussions are ongoing
surrounding the expansion of the partnership either in terms of a
wider product range or a move into Europe.
