 |
| Greenwoods Communications,
the UK's leading independent telecom services provider,
has been appointed as an approved data product installer
by NCH (formerly the National Children's Home). Greenwoods
is involved in an ongoing project to install the data
cabling infrastructure in NCH's new and existing premises.
The appointment comes as NCH, one of the UK's leading
children's charities, increases its number of advice centres
across the UK. |

Greenwoods was initially involved in a one off
installation project to advise on, supply and install the data network
at NCH's premises in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham. Following this successful
install, Greenwoods was approved by NCH to design and install networks
at four further sites in Leicester, Nottingham, Walsall and Derby.
These premises are being configured as individual LANs which are connected
to the rest of NCH's sites via a WAN. "We required a company
who could offer the complete package of design, supply and install
of data products and who could be a close partner going forward,"
said Dinesh Lad, IT manager, NCH. "Greenwoods fulfilled these criteria
and impressed us during the initial project, so we had no concerns
in working with them on an ongoing basis. They have been a great help
in assisting us to design and plan future IT networks, as well as
actually carrying out the network installation."
Taking advantage of its partnership with cabling supplier KRONE, Greenwoods
is using KRONE's Cat5e cabling throughout the installations to provide
full voice and data capabilities. Fully structured wiring systems
were installed allowing integration with current and future phone
systems as well as providing phone and data points at every desk.
This enables flexible network management as users join or leave the
network at each of the charity's sites. "This is an exciting
project for Greenwoods," said Wes Walton, engineering systems manager,
Greenwoods. "This is a new market for us and one which we are determined
to be successful in. It is important to demonstrate that we can take
the skills and reputation that Greenwoods has built up in the telecoms
sector and transfer them into the enterprise market." About
NCH
NCH is one of the UK's leading children's charities. Through more

There are many ways of donating to NCH: through payroll giving, making
a legacy in your will, directly in your area and online. Find out
