Acquires Telecom Protection Technologies - 23rd January

| Greenwoods Communications,
the UK's leading independent provider of telecoms infrastructure
services, has acquired Telecom Protection Technologies
(TPT). TPT specialises in the design and manufacture of
hardware and software that protects against over voltage
and electrical surges in telecom equipment, such as can
be caused by lightning strikes. TPT has been acquired
to further strengthen Greenwoods' custom design and manufacturing
expertise. |

In addition to providing its core lightning protection
solutions, TPT has recently designed remote access signal units for
the colocation market. The company's research and development team
also designs power distribution units (PDUs), remote access PDUs,
baluns and least cost routing diallers. TPT has an annual turnover
of £2.5 million and its customers include Cable & Wireless, Colt Telecom,
Highways Agency, Level 3, Lucent, Mitel and NTL.

worked closely with TPT for a number of years - its excellent reputation
for innovative custom design and manufacture of protection solutions
was a decisive factor in buying the company", said John Greenwood,
managing director and founder of Greenwoods. "This acquisition is
part of our ongoing goal to expand and strengthen the range of products
and devices we offer, and ultimately increase our flexibility and
service to customers. This is particularly important as the company
continues to establish itself as a major provider of telecom products
and services throughout Europe."

Greenwoods Communications
