Greenwoods Offers Remote
Access Power Distribution Units - 20th June 2001

| Greenwoods Communications,
in partnership with Telecom Protection Technologies (TPT),
is offering a new range of Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
The units, which contain power consumption measuring equipment
with remote monitoring facilities, are a cost-effective
power solution for hosting companies, allowing accurate
billing of customers power usage. |

Unlike standard PDUs which simply provide extra
electrical outlets, the latest range from TPT has built in power measurement
and data storage modules, together with an RF transceiver to monitor
and then store power consumption data. In addition, the PDUs benefit
from wireless remote access, enabling the operator to read data by
a hand held computer or a PC fitted with a small radio module. This
removes the need for physical site visits.
Each PDU has a unique address and serial number, which allows the
user to install potentially thousands of units in one geographical
location. This allows for individual readings on a large site.
TPT's PDUs also have the added advantage of using very low RF power.
This ensures that the radio frequency emission does not interfere
with the telecoms equipment, a factor which is often forgotten in
telecoms infrastructure.
