Greenwoods Expands
Mobile Business

 |
| Greenwoods Communications,
the UK's leading independent telecoms services company,
has announced the expansion of its mobile services division.
Greenwoods' mobile customers already include Orange, T-Mobile
and Vodafone and with the expansion of its mobile portfolio,
the company now offers a complete range of end-to-end
services including complete base station site design,
build, installation and commissioning. The growth of its
mobile division will enable Greenwoods to provide an entirely
managed outsourcing service, freeing up time and resources
for its mobile customers. |

As
part of Greenwoods' increased focus on the mobile market, it has appointed
a new head of mobile construction services, Keith Slater, who previously
worked at MCI Worldcom. By broadening its service offering, Greenwoods
will be able to provide its mobile customers with even greater operational
efficiencies and cost savings when undertaking mobile network roll-outs
and other projects. "With
uncertainty over 3G network roll-out and consumer demand, cost and
revenue concerns are of key importance," said Slater. "The industry
has been forced to become very focused on the management of its costs,
particularly following the huge amount of money spent on 3G licenses
and increasing regulator pressures to lower prices. Because of this,
they are increasingly turning to third party companies to undertake
much of the physical build-out of their next generation networks."
Greenwoods already carries out installation and outsourced activities
for a majority of Europe's fixed line telecoms companies, and the
extension of these services for the mobile sector is part of the company's
continued expansion plans. |
