Customised Solutions
| |
|
 |
| Greenwoods Communications
has expanded its customised cabinet solutions to further
meet the requirements of its customers. An excellent example
of this happened earlier this year when a major operator
requested a customised alternative to the standard DDF
(Digital Distribution Frame) it currently uses for connecting
120 cables. |

The
customer required more connections in the same space while maintaining
a neat well managed appearance. Therefore, the new MDF was designed
around the exact footprint (area on the floor) of the standard DDF.
The design change incorporated new vertical members to enable the
same management, with extra space for more connections. The rack has
four sets of verticals with a full density of 304 eight pair strips,
giving a termination frame of 2,432 of shielded twisted data pairs.
This particular rack has been installed in Denmark, Italy, Switzerland,
France, Spain, Belgium, Holland and six sites in Germany.
In
addition to this, Greenwoods has developed its own Internal Multi-Practise
Racks and external BTS cabinets for base stations. John Rogers, product
manager at Greenwoods, developed the cabinets to be flexible in size
and application, and to offer different configurations, thus extending
the range Greenwoods supplies.
The external BTS cabinet is application specific and is a substitute
for the currently supplied cabinet. The Internal Multi-Purpose Rack
is suitable for telephone exchanges, stand-alone applications and
data. The completion of the development of the Multi-Practise Rack
has led to favourable responses from a number of telco's. Greenwoods
has already identified five key strategic projects that will use these
customised cabinets. All of the above racks and cabinets are custom-built
at the Telfab manufacturing facility, which is owned by Greenwoods
Communications. |
